This is also the kind of story where nothing explicitly tragic occurs, where the tragedy is exposed very subliminally. This is the kind of story where you (or at least, I) do not grasp the point of the story until the very end. James Joyce's short story masterpiece, 'The Dead' can be found in his collection of short stories centered around the city of Dublin, Ireland called 'The Dubliners'.) This was suppose to be a brief one-page analysis that eventually metastasized into seven. (I wrote this analysis for an assignment in a fiction writing class that I took many moons ago.
